This page outlines the general policies and standard terms for orders placed with Secret Ingredient Bakery. These policies are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and a smooth experience for both our customers and our bakery. By placing an order with us, you agree to the policies below.
General Information
Secret Ingredient Bakery is a custom bakery offering made-to-order desserts, including cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and desserts for events. We operate with limited weekly availability and do not maintain a traditional storefront. Orders are fulfilled via scheduled pickup, delivery, or in-person market events.
Allergen notice: All products are made in a kitchen that may also process common allergens.
Ordering & Availability
- All orders are subject to availability and are not confirmed until payment (or required deposit) is received.
- We reserve the right to limit the number of orders accepted per date to maintain quality and service standards.
- Availability may vary based on seasonality, holidays, and market schedules.
Lead Time
To help us deliver the best quality and a smooth experience, we ask for the following advance notice whenever possible:
- Standard orders: We recommend placing orders at least 7 days in advance (especially for custom cakes).
- Corporate treat boxes & platters: 7 days’ notice required.
- Individually packaged event favors & corporate dessert tables: 14 days’ notice required.
- Weddings: Most couples book 6–12 months in advance. Final payment is due 30 days prior to the wedding date.
Large-scale or high-volume orders may require additional lead time. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee availability.
Payment Policy
- Full payment is typically required to confirm orders unless otherwise stated.
- For large or event-based orders, a non-refundable deposit may be required, with the remaining balance due prior to fulfillment.
- Orders are not considered confirmed until payment is received.
Cancellations & Refunds
Due to the custom and perishable nature of our products:
- Payments and deposits are non-refundable once an order is confirmed.
- Cancellations made within a short timeframe prior to fulfillment are not eligible for refunds.
- If an issue arises due to circumstances within our control, we will work with you toward an appropriate resolution at our discretion.
Changes to Orders
- Requests for changes (design, quantity, flavors, pickup/delivery details) must be submitted as early as possible.
- Changes are not guaranteed and may result in additional charges.
- Significant changes requested close to the fulfillment date may be declined.
Pickup & Delivery
Pickup
- Pickup times and locations are scheduled in advance.
- Customers are responsible for arriving on time.
- Failure to pick up an order at the scheduled time may result in forfeiture without refund.
Delivery
- Delivery is subject to availability and distance.
- Delivery fees are based on location and will be communicated in advance.
- Once an order has been delivered and accepted, responsibility transfers to the client.
Design & Artistic Style
- Custom designs are interpreted through the lens of our bakery’s style and techniques.
- Inspiration photos are used as references, not exact replicas.
- Minor variations in color, texture, and decoration are normal and expected.
Allergens & Dietary Information
- Our kitchen handles common allergens including (but not limited to): milk, eggs, wheat, soy, and nuts.
- We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
- Customers are responsible for communicating any dietary concerns prior to ordering.
Market & Pop-Up Sales
- Items sold at markets and pop-up events are available while supplies last.
- Offerings may vary by event and are not guaranteed.
- Market purchases are final and not eligible for refunds.
Food Safety & Handling
- Once an order leaves our possession (pickup or delivery), we are not responsible for damage caused by improper handling, storage, or transportation.
- Customers are responsible for following any care or storage instructions provided.
Photography & Marketing
We reserve the right to photograph our work for marketing and promotional purposes. Client names and personal details will never be shared without consent.
Right to Refuse Service
Secret Ingredient Bakery reserves the right to refuse service or cancel orders at our discretion for reasons including, but not limited to, inappropriate requests, policy violations, or circumstances beyond our control.

Policies are subject to change at any time. The most current version will always be available on our website. It is the customer’s responsibility to review these policies prior to placing an order.
